Discovery+ Takeover Ads are part of the advanced streaming ad suite designed to provide a high-impact, 1-day immersive sponsorship, ensuring the featured brand is the first ad every viewer sees upon launching the platform.

I created this format as an ideal advertiser solution for key brand moments like product launches, studio releases, or one-day campaigns—tailored to amplify each client’s message and engage viewers from the start.

This ad format was later adopted by Max and WBD Stream, building upon the original concept developed for Discovery+.

Binge Ads

GEICO | DEVOUR | La-Z-Boy | Coca-Cola

Discovery+ Binge Ads are exclusive sponsorships designed to reward viewers with an ad-free episode during their binging session. After three consecutive episodes, a short intro acknowledges the viewer’s commitment and informs them that the fourth episode will be ad-free, thanks to the brand’s sponsorship.

For this ad product, I customized the approach to each client, transforming their national brand campaigns into engaging Binge “reward” ads that leverage viewer behavior and create meaningful brand experiences.

Limited Commercials

Discover Card | Puss In Boots | P&G | Chinet

Discovery+ Limited Commercial Interruptions (LCIs) provide a premium viewing experience by reducing the number of ads viewers see, allowing a single sponsor to own 100% of ad breaks for a key series.

I designed this ad product with a custom pre-roll introduction to inform viewers about their limited commercial interruption experience, ensuring consistent brand presence while minimizing interruptions.

Pause Ads

Kraft | Ring | Sleep Number | Marshalls

Discovery+ Pause Ads connect with viewers during natural breaks, displaying a static ad when content is paused for more than three seconds. This unobtrusive format allows brands to deliver contextually relevant messages at moments of peak viewer attention.

I designed the UX for this ad format and created contextually relevant messaging for each advertiser, utilizing brand assets supplied by clients to enhance engagement.

Collection Partnerships

Martell | Butterball | Lancôme

Discovery+ Collection Partnerships offer brands the opportunity to align with key cultural and seasonal themes through curated content hubs. Each collection features a selection of shows celebrating community, culture, and important moments, allowing brands to engage viewers in a relevant way.

I developed this ad product to include a custom pre-roll that plays immediately when a viewer selects a show within the hub, aligning with the client’s brand. Significant collections include Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Holiday Lane, Pride Month, and more.

This ad format was later adopted by Max and WBD Stream, building upon the original concept developed for Discovery+.
